I don't have VES in my car, but I'm interested in emulating it.
Does anyone (with a way to capture CAN-B packets) have it in theirs?
[RESOLVED] VES emulation?
Great! I don't know how much time you'll have to spend on it, but I'm particularly interested in finding the packets which indicate the VES is present, and then the communication to/from the VES when controlling it from the radio, and plugging something into the AUX jack, etc.linuxkidd wrote:I've not done any captures on a VES equipped vehicle... but I do have one at my disposal now... I'll try to get a capture on it in the next few days...
I'll post back when it's available online..
Thanks,

Thanks (in advance) for anything you're able to come up with.
Thats cool....
Do you know of anybody that is willing to build one of the diy can interfaces that are posted on the site? I want to try out some things, but don't know where to start when building one of those boards.

Small world... I'm working for Lexmark now!
As far as the board.. I'm sure someone here can make one for ya for the right price.
However.. If you want possibly quicker results, check out the CANUSB or CAN232
http://www.canusb.com
http://www.can232.com
They can be had online for less than $150. I used the CAN232 personally and it works well. The CANUSB can support higher baud rates and is probably the better choice of the two.

If you can read this, the light is still red.
