Interface of choice at canhack.org. We have used it for all data captures available at our can_logger analysis tool.
DRAWBACKS:
Since it runs on RS232, it will probably not be fast enough to handle the CAN-C bus ( I believe it runs at 512kbps ). The CAN-USB may be a better option since it is rated as being 1mbps CAN speed capable.
The CAN USB appears to be the CAN RS232 with a USB interface tacked on. In the manual for the CAN USB, it talks about conversion from serial to USB in the device and may suffer the same speed limitations.
So there may be no benefit to this, other than USB convenience which can be provided with a USB to RS232 adapter, no?
Both devices can swallow chunks of data at high speed, but can't deliver it continuously. With filtering, I suspect you could hang more than one on a bus and capture as much as you need, by just filtering for different things.
That's cool. Everyone else is just jealous that they don't here the voices too.. Even though I know they're not real.. They have some really good ideas!
The voices randomly steal single socks from me and have threatened to continue doing this as well as misplacing my car keys, if I don't continue to do their bidding...
So we're all frightened of them. Especially the one that calls himself jaak. QUICK HIDE, he's coming!
