Re: Chrysler CAN-C Listings

Sorry, and thanks for the heads up! I can't believe I did that...
It's there now. If you discover anything or have anything cool to add, let me know and I'll update my docs.

Re: Chrysler CAN-C Listings

I've been working out the CAN-C stuff from Chrysler vehicles and posting the data here:
https://github.com/BiggRanger/CANBUS-Ve ... ngineering
My work involves the following vehicles:
2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
2008 Dodge Durango
2010 Jeep Wrangler

Re: CANBUS Bridge - A device used to determine the source of message IDs

I've been using an Arduino to broadcast the CAN messages, the 100mS messages I've found need to be 100mS +/- 20 mS for everything to work right. I think when messages take more than 120mS something times out and needs to be reset. By the way, please post how you got to the secret menu. It may help o...

Re: CANBUS Bridge - A device used to determine the source of message IDs

Hi CAN_do_attitude, I remember reading a long time ago that the RER radios will store the VIN on an EEPROM internally and sometimes use it as a security feature to prevent it from working in another vehicle with a different VIN. Chrysler has done the same thing with a lot of other devices on the CAN...

Re: Activating and controlling a Chrysler RES radio (a working system!)

My 2010 Wrangler uses 125KBPS CAN. Unfortunately I don't have the radio anymore so I can't play around with it. From my data logs I can see that CAN ID 0x20B is the key position, it's a 2 byte message, byte 0 is the key position make this 0x81, and byte 1 is always 0x00. This message is broadcast ev...

Re: CANBUS Bridge - Used to determine the source of message IDs

I'll be putting all my findings here:

My work has slowed down a lot since everything is covered in snow right now, but as soon as it warms up again I'll be back at it.

CANBUS Bridge - A device used to determine the source of message IDs

Looking at a bunch of messages on the CANBUS is interesting, but in order to aid in deciphering what the message content is it helps to know what device it broadcasting what message ID. I created a project I call the CANBUS Bridge using an Arduino Uno, and 2 CANBUS boards. This device gets placed be...

Re: Powering up a Dodge REC radio

I'm a couple of years late to this, but here is my project for starting up and controlling a RES radio.

Re: Time/Clock on Dodge CAN Bus

I've been working on the same thing. 2008 Dodge Durango, the SKREEM module is the time keeper, it broadcasts the 0x3EC message, and also listens for the 0x0F0 message. When setting the clock radio the 0x0F0 message goes from 00, 00, 00, 00 to 0x03, HH, MM, 00. After the clock is set it resumes the 0...

Activating and controlling a Chrysler RES radio (a working system!)

I'm in the process of documenting the CAN messages (IHS and C) for 2 Jeeps, and a dodge. In the process of doing this I'm also tearing down the Dodge and parting it out. One thing I found interesting is the radio needs to receive CAN messages in order to turn it on and activate it, so I created this...
