2007 Dodge Radio Emulator

I have a project that I've had in my car for several years... I removed the radio in my 2007 Charger and put in my own board based on a mBed LPC1768 board. Originally it controlled the amplifier and Sirius Receiver, picked up the steering wheel button presses, and more recently displays text on the ...

Re: 2014 Dodge Charger

Here you go: else if (can_MsgRx.id == 0x002) { status._rpm = (can_MsgRx.data[0] << 8) + can_MsgRx.data[1]; status._speed = ((can_MsgRx.data[2] << 8) + can_MsgRx.data[3]) >> 7; // what are the other 4 bytes? } else if (can_MsgRx.id == 0x003) { status._brake = can_MsgRx.data[3] & 0x01; status._gear = ...

Re: 2014 Dodge Charger

FYI for the 2007 era Charger (low speed bus, 83.3k) the VIN message is in the same format and in message ID 0x01B...
I have a lot of the messages decoded for that model... mostly to replace the Head Unit.... I wonder if the 2013 Challenger has the same messages....

Re: CAN transceiver energy consumption over time

Later in the Spec sheet, Section 2.2 contains information about the supply current.
Would it be correct to say that when it is not transmitting, but operating at "High Speed" that the chip uses 10mA, and 75mA when transmitting? and 365uA while sleeping?

Re: CAN transceiver energy consumption over time

From the MCP2551 Spec sheet:

Standby -IRS < 10 µA
Slope-Control 10 µA < -IRS < 200 µA
High-Speed -IRS < 610 µA

I believe that High Speed is the mode is full power. The current consumption looks to be 610ua

Re: CAN ID's for 2006 Dodge Charger RT

wekiwu...

I have a bunch of things mapped out on my charger... its all getting decoded in a microcontroller that uses c++ code. What sorts of things are you interested in decoding?

I should eventually list all the things I have and post them... let me know if you want more info...

Re: Newbie

I've done some mapping on the interior bus of my 07 charger... I posted it here somewhere...

Re: PICAXE+ELM327

LK... I have finished my latest board.... It uses a mbed microcontroller and has two CAN bus interfaces. It has a serial port that I use to control a directed HD radio device. I control the device with a ethernet port. The part that I wanted to share was that it has a TDA7719 ( http://www.st.com/web...

Re: Arduino CAN Shield Help

My 2007 Dodge Charger has 2 buses.... the radio bus has a baud rate of 83.3k... I know that the 2008 models switched to the 125k speed. let us know if anything works

ben, I too have 2 kids and a job.... I know how it is... i have had a 2nd version of my board fully assembled for over 6 months and am just now putting it in.... and it is awesome! Re: Custom CAN Interface Board

Ben... It's awesome that you found the site! I'm sure that you can get something going.... I did :) Your challenges: 1) Sirius Channel name.... easy 2) Nav directions.... not so sure... 3) Volume control.... easy... sounds like the lockpick is failing maybe? I ripped out my car's head unit... I had ...

Re: amplifier?

According to the LX Series service manual, there are several levels of radio... The Lowline system has 4 speakers connected directly to the radio. The Midline 1 system has 6 speakers connected directly to the radio. the Midline II and Highline systems have an amplifier that takes in left and right +...

Re: amplifier?

This is a tough one.... It's probably easiest to go with an Arduino development board and a CAN breakout board..... Keep in mind, the price of this equipment could exceed the price of a new aftermarket amp... I first started with a Lawicel CANUSB device for about $100. It was great, but required a P...
