Re: Basic CAN driver to turn on/off accessory wire

The hex file is proprietary to PAC. You have to write your own code.

Re: Can-Bus To Analog Speed Pulse Interface

I actually designed a vehicle speed interfaces for a taxi company based off this interface http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.asp ... egoryID=26
You could contact PAC and see if they still sell that taxi interface.

Go here for documents.. http://erwin.audi.de For logging, i would say you are fine with any CAN>USB/RS232 interface. I use this http://www.intrepidcs.com/website/neoVI/index.htm and this http://www.intrepidcs.com/website/vspy3/index.htm which is not for hobbiest. I think it costs about $4000 for the...

The VW/Porsche uses 100k buad rate. Mercedes/Chrysler uses 83.333k baud rate. The 2002-2004 Jetta, or the last year before the Jetta changed body style, uses different ID's than the new vehicles. I have to assume the other models, like Passat and GTI, changed ID's also. Completely threw me off, as i...

Re: Anyone know how similar DCX CAN is to Mercedes CAN ?

I believe that Mercedes uses no CAN-B and -D but rather just one CAN-C for the entire vehicle. I only base this off the Dodge Sprinter, which is really a Mercedes Maxivan. So much so that there is a special note when you try and use a StarScan or DRB on that vehicle. So other then the physical laye...

Re: Totally COOL!

I wonder if they have any plans to make stereos display info via EVIC!?! I doubt it... PAC specializes in aftermarket integration products like the SWI-CAN... One of the guys from PAC has actually helped this project quite a bit. ( He's on here as PAC ). There really isn't a 'huge' market for allow...

Seems he is decipering and responding to CAN bus packets. Maybe we could get some of his insight? He has deciphered a lot of CAN bus data. However, he is unwilling to share. ( He gets bent about people saying this, but I can't change the truth. ) I PM'ed him several times on 300cforums askin...

Re: High speed download mode (83kbps)

Per the document provided by PAC: 3.3.3 High Speed Data Download The AU5790 also provides a high-speed transmission mode for software or diagnostic data download with bit rates up to 83 kbps. Usually an external node is attached to the network as the data source. If the NSTB input is pulled high an...

Mad Max is right... The connection to the OBDII connector is from "Diagnostic CAN-C"... Which can pull codes from the other two, but not inject data. Right now, it seems that the easiest place to get to the CAN-B that we want to tap is in the drivers door jam.. ( down at the floor. ) If y...
